Well the chicken bus to xela (quetzaltenango) was pretty fun. it was a good morning and the start of a whole new thing for us. Xela is quite nice in a valley surrounded by volcanoes. We plan to do a couple hikes here cause need the fitness after sitting in huehue for the last week. we also hope to find a nice school and crib to hang in for a while (couple weeks or 3). Everyone is getting ready for xmas here as you can see from the beer sponsored xmas tree but it doesn´t feel much like the festive season. everything is warm and green here and we are in shorts and flipflops.
post you later,
J&M

Dear Meighan & James,
We loved reading about the regifting of "Ruby". Your transportation is now dependent on others - great way to meet people!
Snow is here, but the weather is beautiful!
Agribition is on and, for the first time, we went to the rodeo. We sat in box seats - it was awesome! Drinks, snacks...Next year we have decided to take a day and go. Seems silly that we haven't gone before...
We are heading to the Ross Machine Shop Christmas party, tonight. It is at the Turvy Centre - dinner, $10,000 cash for some mock gambling - auction after. Should be fun!
Tomorrow we are heading to the Casino Show Lounge to watch the Grey Cup. We had some friends pick up tickets - ony $5.00 each - We've heard that games on the big screen are awesome!
Heading into December and we are busy at school. Concerts, food bank donations, clothing drive. CRAZY!
Hope to do some baking next week.
I remember being in San Diego in December - there is an odd feeling without snow - There is something about being from Saskatchewan and the white on the ground creating a buzz for the holidays.
There is something about not having to plug in a car, find your scraper, toque, mitts and boots! Enjoy!
Thanks for the photos!
Love to you both,
C & G
I´m very sorry to hear about your car. I normally don´t laugh when people experience traumatic episodes like this, but I allowed myself to smile when reading your story James :-)
However, I´m glad you are enjoying Xela :-) Even though that probably means that we won´t be seeing eachother this time around. I wish your bodies some pleseant hiking, and your minds some exciting Spanish.
My tummy is really happy today. I can still taste that incredible Thanksgiving meal from yesterday :-) We should start celebrating this day in Norway also :-)
Good luck on the rest of your trip.
