It is a nice life, yes it is!

Que pasa?

Wow! We have not updated in a while! We are still in Buenos Aires, finishing our last month here. We can not believe how fast the time here has gone. Our stay here has been extremely rewarding and fulfilling. We feel so lucky to have been able to have this time in the middle of our trip to relax, regroup and plan for the remaining months. We have enjoyed many days of reading, talking and reflecting. It has been great.

We recently started volunteering with a volunteer organization in La Boca. For those of you that know Buenos Aires, La Boca is known for colourful houses and Italian immigrants. However, behind the touristy area, La Boca is also a very poor neighbourhood. The group of people we have been working with, Vecinos de la boca (neighbours of the boca), run a small community centre for the children in the area. In the afternoons they provide a snack and recreational activities for kids. As well they offer music and dance classes in the evenings and weekends. The group consists of a number of concerned citizens who want to show the kids in the neighbourhood that people care and that they have a safe place to come. Although the group receives a small amount of money from the government for food, they spend a lot of their own money to keep the centre open and running. They are an exceptional group of people who have been extremely welcoming and patient with us. We were even fortunate enough to be invited to family dinner with them for a International Womens Day celebrations. You can see Paula, Olga and Pichu in the picture with us. Paula pretty much dedicates her life to keeping the centre running. You can see the centre in the picture of James sitting on the steps.

Other than volunteering we have been busy taking in the last sights we want to see. We went to see a River Plate futbol (soccer) match last weekend in the pouring rain. Even four feet of water will not keep the crazy fans away. We hope to take in a Boca Juniors game before we leave. I have been taking Salsa dance lessons on Saturdays and we still go to the gym almost every day. We would be in better shape if we stopped eating pizza and sausage at midnight everynight! However, we have the best pizza place and choripan place so close we can not help it! The older gentleman in the photo is a folk singer I befriended in the park.

I guess that is about it. We will be in Buenos Aires until the end of March, so if you want to give us a shout, we would love to hear from you before then : ) Oh ya and thanks SaskTel for the $500 phone bill!!!! You Rock!

Hugs and Love
Meighan (and James)

Good Morning!
Well...it is officially spring! The weather is in the + and moods of people, in general, have lifted! Thank goodness!

Katie is leaving for her 10 day Paris trip on Saturday - she is gone for 10 days. She is so excited and we are sharing in that excitement!

I'm heading into a 10 day break and really looking forward to it!

We are heading to Estevan on Saturday to visit with Grandma and your mom, along with a few friends. Glenn has an order to drop off for a customer.

Real Estate is still booming - I'm sure you could sell your home in Cathedral for $300,000.00...but that would be with a wee shanty to replace it at $150,000 - CRAZY!!!

Hope you are both well...think of you often and your travels. I'm sure you will have many stories to share upon your return.

Hugs,

Love,

G & C
