Happy Easter Bunnies

Just a quick little update. Since we are on our last week in Buenos Aires. We are trying to cram everything in.
Last weekend we ran a 7km race for UNICEF. We were both pretty surprised that we made it considering we have not been running and decided on Tuesday to run the race on Sunday. We recieved some pretty snazzy orange hats as a bonus!

We continue to volunteer daily at the comedor. Last week we took paints and had a craft day. Things became a bit hectic but if anything, it was good play therapy. The kids are super cute and we really enjoy going.

Steinar, a friend we made in Mexico, has now arrived in Buenos Aires. We were lucky enough to host him for a night and have been enjoying catching up with him this last week.

Other highlights include the Bob Dylan concert and the boca juniors futbol game. Take of note of the beautiful cheerleaders. When did soccer get cheerleaders??!!

We are looking forward to Thursday when my friend Jenn arrives to spend a month or more here in South America. A bit with us and maybe a bit on her own. We are really excited for her visit.

We have booked our flights home and will be seeing you all sometime in July!

xoxo

Happy Easter James & Meighan!

AND Happy 32nd Birthday James!
I hope you're having a great celebration with all the things you love- beer, wine, pizza, sausage, chocolate, running, puttering around (slowly)... And I hope your exciting adventures continue throughout your 32nd year.

This travel quote seemed fitting for you:
"Travel at its truest is thus an ironic experience, and the best travelers . . . seem to be those able to hold two or three inconsistent ideas in their minds at the same time, or able to regard themselves as at once serious persons and clowns." Paul Fussell

You're always good for having lots of ideas. And of course you're a bit of a clown...

Take care you guys and keep feeding us stories.

Hi you two

I haven't checked your blog in a bit and was surprised to see all that I have missed.
We just got back from Phoenix with the boys. It was hot and very relaxing. We didn't make it to the Grand Canyon but went to Sedona to see the red rock. Absolutely amazing. We also went to a Suns vs Rockets basketball game and the cheerleaders looked something like those you have posted. Things will really look up if and when we get some cheerleaders looking like those girls. Makes for an exciting game I'd say. I was just talking to Nash today about the volume at the Futball games. It must have been something to see.

Where are you off to now that you are leaving Buenos Aires? Are you going to Peru to do the hike? We are still planning on going there summer of '09 so will need any advise you have.

Everyone is doing fine here. Shivon is close to finishing her college and presently seeking a job. Chris has been giving her some names so hopefully she will find something real soon. She is excited about the whole idea and this makes her dad happy as well. Who would have thought she would be someday working in the oil patch.

We have a short break from soccer. Nash is still waiting to hear if he made the Calgary team. Things are tough as the kids are younger and better each and every year. He really has to grow soon. He ate a lot in Phoenix so we are hoping this is a sign of growth. Poor kid is stressed.

Sadie is growing so much that we think she may not be a mini after all. She is 14.4 pounds and a beast. Shivon is always teaching her things. She does the high five with both paws as Shivon has a cheerios in her mouth. I think she is just jumping for the snack. She chewed my plants down to the root while we were gone. I asked a lady who has a 2 year old dach when they stop chewing. She said never. Great! I may be pulling some teeth out soon. What I did without her.

Anyways, take care, happy belated birthday James and Happy Easter to you both!

Keep writing as I am enjoying this experience along with you.
