Hello everybody!we are in Gold Beach Oregon today after a super week spent in portland and on the ocean.
the hostel sleep in portland was a tad restless. after camping by trickling rivers the sharing of a dorm room offers quite different atmosphere. good location though. right downtown and easy access to walk everywhere (breweries, waterfront, dan and louis oyster bar...etc).
from there to the coast down pacific coast highway 101. the black molasses bread at the otis cafe is a must stop for anyone passing through these parts. some nice state and national park campsites have gotten us through the first leg and some swank scenes of lighthouses and coffee on the beach, but the 2 nights camping right on the beach was monumental! serious lazy day just reading and lounging in the sun and surf...meighan's forehead is bright red!
now a last night in oregon and then on to the super redwoods in california!
